On October 19, 2024, the California Association of Professional Employees (CAPE) hosted a memorable 60th Anniversary Membership Dinner at the beautiful Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA.

Our 2024-2025 CAPE Bargaining Team is ready to head into negotiations, representing every CAPE member and building on the hard-won progress we’ve achieved.

CAPE members will have a little more money in our pockets as our next CAPE-contract pay raise kicks in during the month of October.

CAPE, united together with the Coalition of County Unions (CCU), has secured an agreement with the County to extend the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) through the end March 2021.

All CAPE/Blue Shield participants were recently mailed new ID cards for Ameritas dental insurance – a supplemental benefit automatically provided when enrolling in the CAPE/Blue Shield Lite or Classic Point of Service medical plans.

This is for the new coverage that became available under the CAPE/Blue Shield plans for 2021 and is not meant to replace your current dental plan through the County.

CAPE members across L.A. County served as poll workers through the Disaster Service Worker Program to ensure every voter could make their voice heard.

We're holding our first digital CAPE Membership Meeting on Monday, October 5 at 11:30am.  Our CAPE Board of Directors will discuss County budget cuts, CAPE Blue Shield Open Enrollment and work-related COVID updates.
