The election for the CAPE Board of Directors is approaching soon. This year, the two-year terms of five (5) Board Directors must be filled. An online election will be held throughout the month of August. The five candidates receiving the largest number of votes will be elected to serve two-year terms (September 2025 - September 2027).
California Association of Professional Employees (CAPE) members interested in running for a term on the Board of Directors are invited to submit:
Nominating Petition signed by 20 CAPE members
Candidate Statement not to exceed 250 words
The deadline for nominating petitions and candidate statements is 5:00 p.m. on July 14, 2025.

Electronic/Digital signatures will be accepted.
- For the purposes of this petition, an electronic signature will be accepted if the nominating member sends the petition candidate an email stating “I nominate CANDIDATE NAME to run for the CAPE Board of Directors.”
- The petition candidate will print the member’s name in the designated area of the petition and write “DIGITAL” in the signature area.
- The petition candidate should submit a copy of all emails from members submitting electronic signatures.
ELECTION CALENDAR
- June 16, 2025: Nominating Petition forms available. Call the CAPE office at 626-243-0340 to request a Nominating Petition, or download one from www.CAPEunion.org/election.
- July 14, 2025: Deadline for Nominating Petitions and Candidate Statements—must be received at the CAPE office by 5:00 p.m.
- July 28, 2025: Ballots sent to CAPE Members in good standing.
- August 25, 2025: Completed ballots must be received.
- August 26, 2025: The ballot count* will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the CAPE office in the Board Room. Members are welcome to attend.
*An independent election firm will conduct the ballot count.
CAPE Board of Directors: Our nine-member Board of Directors makes the vast majority of decisions for our union, including policy formulation and authorization of all financial transactions. The Board is made up entirely of volunteer full dues-paying CAPE members who are elected by the membership of CAPE.
