- Department: Office of the Assessor
- Classification: Supervising Appraiser
- County Employment Years: 14.5
- CAPE Member Years: 14.5
Candidate’s Statement:
More than ever, County employees need union leadership who can bring people together to work towards a better future. If elected, I will strive to improve compensation, working conditions, continuing education, and quality of life for all of our members, with a special focus on those of our members at the beginning or midpoint of their County careers.
I have worked for government agencies since 2003, when I started working as a city planner alongside building inspectors, traffic engineers, and other public sector professionals. In 2011, I switched careers to appraisal for the LA County Office of the Assessor.
I have served on the Board of professional organizations such as the International Association of Assessment Officers (IAAO), the American Planning Association (APA), and the Association of Environmental Professionals (AEP). I have also served on the City of South Pasadena’s Planning Commission and General Plan Update committee, and on the City of Long Beach’s Downtown Shoreline Vision Plan Roundtable. Now, with unfair attacks on public sector unions becoming even more prevalent, I am seeking to serve a fifth term as a member of the CAPE Board of Directors.
