Candidate’s Statement:

CAPE Union colleagues,

I write to you not just at the beginning of our election cycle, but ahead of another season of
salary contract negotiations. The economic hurdles this time present challenges like no
other.

In the face of relentlessly rising costs, it is imperative that we negotiate fair raises that
reflect our hard work and dedication as well as our ability to survive in the very jurisdictions
in and around those we serve. I understand all too well the financial struggles we face and
the impact they have on our families. As your representative on the CAPE Board of
Directors, I will fight to secure the best possible outcomes for ALL of us, to strive for wages
that keep pace with economic realities.

Our working conditions are the foundation of our productivity and well-being. We must
ensure that our voices are heard, that our work environments are safe, fair, and conducive
to our growth. We will not tolerate neglect from those in power. Together, we can command
the respect and consideration that every worker deserves from our Departments and our
Board of Supervisors.

United, we can achieve remarkable progress. Our collective strength is our greatest asset,
and harnessing that strength will move us forward, stronger and more determined than
ever. I ask for your vote so that I may have the honor of leading this union to success
bargaining this term and beyond. Thank you!

In solidarity,

Lisa Andres
