LA County Unit CAPE Members To Vote Soon On Bargaining Unit Tentative Agreements

CAPE LA County Unit members will get to vote-by-mail soon regarding the terms of your new CAPE Bargaining Unit Salary Contract Tentative Agreement (TA). CAPE's Negotiations Teams reached a TA with County management on a new 3-year, 10% pay increase package for all CAPE-represented employees in October.  Since then we have been working hard to make sure you receive the first 3% pay raise of the new agreement, which will be retroactive to 10/1/2015, as soon as administratively possible.

CAPE and County representatives started the laborious process of writing and revising the specific language of each Unit contract earlier this month. Article by article, section by section, we review and write the new language of each Unit contract to ensure each accurately reflects the negotiated agreement.  Once this process is complete, and the members have ratified each new Unit contract by vote, the contracts must then be submitted to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for formal approval before the County can administer your first pay raise.

Details of the TA for your Bargaining Unit contract will be included with your vote materials, which will be mailed to all CAPE members the first week in December.  If you do not receive your contract vote materials by December 10th, please contact our office at (626) 243-0340 so we can request a replacement ballot for you from the election vendor.  The CAPE Negotiations Teams achieved several important gains this negotiating cycle in addition to the 10% overall pay increase package. Please be sure to read your vote materials carefully, mark your ballot, and return it in the envelope provided to ensure your voice is heard.
