Candidate’s Statement:
Hello, my name is Jonathan Ontiveros, and I am seeking your vote in the 2025 California Association of Professional Employees (CAPE) election for the position of Board of Director. I want to begin by thanking the current board for their years of dedicated service and advocacy. Their efforts have built a strong foundation for CAPE and secured meaningful gains for our members. As we look to the future, it is time to pass the torch, welcoming a new generation of leaders who will build on that legacy with fresh energy, accountability, and a commitment to inclusive representation.
I am eager for the opportunity to serve as part of the next wave of CAPE leadership, one that is steadfast and grounded in service. As President‐Elect of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Metropolitan Los Angeles Branch, I’ve had the privilege of leading alongside talented professionals to support the growth and development of our members. This experience has reinforced my belief that leadership is about empowering others, fostering collaboration, and putting the collective needs of the organization first. I believe these values are essential as we look to strengthen CAPE’s future
Now more than ever, CAPE must stand firm, unified, and strategic to secure the fair, competitive contracts our members and their families rightfully deserve. If elected, I will fight to ensure that every member has a voice at the table. It’s time for CAPE to grow with its membership, not apart from it.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Ontiveros
