Contract Bonuses Are Here

Now that the Board of Supervisors has voted to approve our new nine-month Fringe Benefits Contract/MOU, the Auditor Controller will now begin dispersing the bonuses we secured as early as our November 15 or November 30 paychecks.

As you remember, two of the key highlights we secured in our Fringe Benefits negotiations were a:

  • $1,000 bonus for all full time County employees ($500 for part time employees); and a
  • $500 COVID appreciation bonus for employees who worked at least 20 hours per week on average for those who attest to “elevated risk” on the job.

Who Qualifies for the Bonuses? How Do We Get It?

$1000 General Bonus

All permanent full-time employees who were employed by July 1, 2021 and remain employed as on November 2, 2021 are eligible for the $1,000 General Bonus. Part time employees who worked an average of 20 hours per week qualify for $500 General Bonus.

The Auditor Controller will program payroll to include the general $1000 bonus on the November 15 or November 30 paychecks.

$500 Countywide “COVID Appreciation” Bonus

All County employees who were employed by LA County by July 1, 2020 and whose job duties required them to be within 6 feet or less of a co-worker, patient, client, or member of the general public for a period of at least 15 minutes are eligible for an additional $500 bonus.

To receive the bonus an employee must complete a simple attestation form, which consists of checking off two boxes. These forms are available starting today, November 1. To access the attestation forms, log on to mylacounty.gov, click on ‘eFORMS’.  The form will be found under the ‘Countywide’ tile.

The expectation is that the “COVID Appreciation” Bonus will be included in the December 15 paycheck.
