This week, the California Association of Professional Employees (CAPE) – representing nearly 3,000 members who ensure the safety of L.A. County roads, buildings, bridges, and flood control channels in the event of earthquakes, fires, and floods – announced our strong endorsement of Senator Bob Hertzberg for L.A. County Supervisor (District 3).
We have big battles ahead of us – attacks against our careers, our fight against long-term subcontracting, and protracted contract negotiations that get tougher each cycle. Now more than ever we need a County Supervisor with a proven track record of solving problems big and small.
Bob Hertzberg will be a strong CAPE-ally on the Board of Supervisors.
- Solid Track Record of Prioritizing Working Families
- Experience to Understand and Effectively Advocate for Our Priorities
- Strong Reputation as a Problem Solver and a Coalition Builder
- The Strength to Win this Election
"From serving as Assembly Speaker to Senate Majority Leader Emeritus, Senator Bob Hertzberg has dedicated his life's work to fighting for working families. He's proven himself time and again as someone who will advance a pro-worker agenda,” said Carlos Clayton P.E., CAPE President and Senior Mechanical Engineer for L.A. County. “We know Bob will make an extraordinary County Supervisor and that's why the members of CAPE are proud to endorse him."
Senator Hertzberg received 78% of the vote in his most recent re-election to Senate District 18, 81% of which falls in the new L.A. County Board of Supervisors 3rd District. To date, Senator Hertzberg has won 30 endorsements from working families’ organizations and nearly 200 endorsements in total in less than a month since he entered the Supervisor contest.
