On October 19, 2024, the California Association of Professional Employees (CAPE) hosted a memorable 60th Anniversary Membership Dinner at the beautiful Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA. This milestone event celebrated CAPE’s six decades of dedicated service to over 2,500 Los Angeles County professional workers, recognizing the hard work, resilience, and commitment of our members who have contributed to the betterment of our LA County communities.
We’ve come a long way since 1964—back when a small group of professionals in Los Angeles County came together to form this union. They knew that strength doesn’t come from one voice alone—it comes from all of us standing together. And look where we are now! We represent more than 2,500 Professionals in over 200 LA County classifications – and we’re strong!
"Tonight, we honor the legacy of those who came before us who laid the foundation for CAPE’s success. We honor their courage, their vision, and their unwavering commitment to standing up for what is right. And we celebrate our achievements—the victories we’ve secured, the rights we’ve protected, and the improvements we’ve made to the lives of working families across this County. I am proud to report that the State of Our Union is STRONG!"
~ Carlos Clayton, P.E., CAPE President
"As CAPE leaders, what you guys do helps all of you – every single day, in ways that you don’t even realize. It changes lives. So, I am proud to stand among you, as a proud Unionist.
~Lisa Ann Walter, Keynote Speaker, SAG-AFTRA Executive and Local Board, and star of the hit ABC TV Show, Abbott Elementary
