Candidate’s Statement:

My name is Andrew Flores. I am a current CAPE Board member and Regional Planner.

I'm running for a new term on the CAPE Board of Directors because I believe in the power of solidarity to drive meaningful change.

CAPE is strongest when we stand together—when we listen to each other and move forward with a shared purpose.

Serving on the board the past few months has given me the opportunity to help reinforce that unity and advocate for decisions that reflect the values, needs, and hopes of all our members.

Right now, we’re navigating both challenges and possibilities—rising living costs, shifting workplace norms, and ongoing fights for fairness, dignity, and equity. My commitment is simple: no member should ever feel overlooked or left behind. That means pushing for more transparency, inviting greater participation, and creating more ways for members to be involved in shaping CAPE’s path forward.

I bring a collaborative mindset, a thoughtful approach, and a deep belief in collective empowerment. I’ve seen how solidarity can transform not just workplaces, but lives. As a board member, I’ll continue to work hard to protect the rights we’ve fought to secure—and to build the strength we need to meet whatever comes next.

CAPE isn’t just an organization—it’s a community. I’m always available to listen, to lead, and to stand with you in true solidarity.

Thank you,

ANDREW FLORES, AICP (he/him)
