CAPE Delivers 1,000+ Member Signatures to the Board of Supervisors

CAPE members reached a powerful milestone in our contract campaign: more than 1,000 members signed our petition to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, demanding respect, partnership, and real solutions.

The petition was officially delivered during the May 6 Board of Supervisors meeting, where CAPE leaders Stephanie Tong, Michael Salinas, and Maria Robledo spoke directly to County leadership. Our remarks made it clear: CAPE members are the professional backbone of L.A. County. We show up every day because we care about this County and the families who call it home. Now, we’re calling on the Board of Supervisors to stand with us.

In our comments, we reminded the Board that:

  • CAPE members are vital to disaster response, infrastructure safety, and protecting public dollars.
  • We’ve shown up through every crisis, and we continue to deliver results every day.
  • After months at the bargaining table, the County has yet to present meaningful proposals, especially on economic issues and Telework.
  • We are offering common-sense solutions to move this County forward, but management has failed to meet the moment.
  • We need the Board to direct the CEO to work with us, not against us, to reach a fair, forward-looking contract.

Our petition reflects our message and calls for the County to protect vital services, work with us to seek real, lasting solutions to budget challenges without placing the burden on the professionals who keep L.A. County running.

This milestone is an incredible display of unity and a testament to CAPE members' collective strength and commitment.

We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished—but we know the fight isn’t over. Our Bargaining Teams continue negotiations, and your solidarity fuels our strength at the table.
