CAPE Contract Update: Big Gaps Remain

This week, our CAPE Bargaining Teams met with L.A. County management to continue negotiations toward a strong forward-looking contract. While we made progress on several non-economic issues, we remain far apart on key priorities, especially raises and Telework protections.

Though our contract was set to expire on March 30, we’ve extended it for 30 days to ensure CAPE members stay protected as we continue bargaining. As the new deadline approaches, we’ll reassess the situation and determine whether another extension is necessary to keep negotiations moving and safeguard your rights.

We understand the County faces financial pressures, but we’ve come to the table with practical, cost-effective contract solutions – proposals that protect vital services, save money, and invest in the professionals who keep this County running.

Now it’s time for County leadership to show up with real solutions. If you haven’t signed our petition yet, now’s the time.
