CAPE union members are provided a $30,000 group term life insurance policy automatically upon approval of union membership at no cost. As of July 1, 2019, the CAPE group term life insurance is provided through Mutual of Omaha.
Some of the features of the group term life include Living Benefits such as an Accelerated Benefit; this is available if in the event You incur a Terminal Condition while insured under the Policy.
Features of the Policy also include the ability to continue coverage if you become ineligible due to a leave or disability. Once your eligibility ends with your membership, you may apply for an individual policy which is subject to certain conditions.
